St. Makarios Mission

St. Makarios was founded in 2008 as an Orthodox parish to reach out to the University of Chicago and the broader South Side, which has lacked an Orthodox presence for many years. Interest originated with a variety of students and families at the University of Chicago who desired to have a local parish for themselves and as a witness to friends and community.
